In today’s post I would like to present you Charles and Ray Eames, ones of the most important American designers of the 20th century. I decided to write this post now because firstly I personally admire this pair’s work very much and secondly because the British Barbican presents a new exhibition celebrating the life and work of these designers. The exhibition, aptly titled ‘The World of Charles and Ray Eames’ presents their beautiful universe, from the first plywood experiments, spanning architecture, furniture and product design to less known abstract paintings, multi-media installation projects, graphic design and photographic arts. It reveals their career and is a testimony to their office’s work. The curator of the exhibition Catherine Ince says:
‘We have tried to really explore and highlight the types of projects that they undertook in their 45 years of operation.’.
The exhibition affords an intimate view of the pair as people. You can read more about this beautiful presentation of their work on Wallpaper* magazine website, but I would like to present you some of their iconic projects.
Charles and Ray famously said,
“We wanted to make the best for the most for the least.” , 1941
After Friday’s dramatic terror attacks in Paris we are all sad and devastated about what happened. However, we must remain strong and united. Today’s post is about calm, amazing and modern gateway from famous Danish brand Vipp.
Although the shelter has been already shown on many architectural websites I still want to present it on my blog. Vipp is a big danish company specialized in producing industrial objects and kitchen tools for everyday use since the 1930s. They are especially known for their iconic pedal bin. After they had designed great kitchen and bathroom modules, in 2014 they unveiled their most ambitious product yet: Vipp Shelter.

This very beautiful and romantic idea absolutely charmed me. From string lights conception I have chosen the cotton ball lights to my September Objects of Desire list. Now I would like to tell you a bit more about this idea and show you some inspiration proving that these lights add magic to each and every interior.
The string lights create a beautiful play of light, shadow and colour. It’s a great and easy idea to make over every space at our home, especially in autumn and winter when we want to feel very cosy and comfortable. The string hung in the right place will create amazing atmosphere and keep us in a very good mood.

Not long time ago we were enjoying the warm days of summer, but now the days are getting colder and Christmas time will soon be upon us. But there is nothing better for cool autumn and winter evenings than staying at home with a cup of hot tea and wraping up in a warm blanket! I think this is the element we love about autumn and winter the most :). A warm blanket will keep us warm inside and also outside when we decide to catch the last rays of sun on the terrace or in the garden. A beautiful blanket provides warmth but also is a decorative element of the living room or as a bed covering in the bedroom.
I found this great idea not long time ago and I totally have fallen for it! The Designer Box, founded by Bénédicte Colpin and Tomas Erel, is a beautiful idea that brings original and good design at a very affordable price to your home from the greatest international designers. Sounds great right? 🙂 The founders wanted to make people happy among the ones keen on decoration and design.

It’s been already two weeks after the Paris Design Week, but I would love to present you an exhibition organized by the concept store Nordkraft for this event. The exclusive exhibition, named “Enclosed”, is still going on until October 11th. Created in collaboration with Norm Architects it features four sculptural pieces. This interactive installation of abstract architectural spaces examines the border between furniture and architecture.

This weekend is being quite calm. I can focus on my blog and posts for this month. In the week when I work sometimes this is nearly impossible, but it’s just how it is, and I love my job anyway :).
In today’s post I would like to share with you some good design, exactly one of my favourite chair. I discovered very interesting video on Elle Decoration UK about the production of the Diamond Chair by Harry Bertoia for Knoll. I love a behind-the-scenes glimpse of creating things, spaces or buildings. Knowing the process of construction fascinates me!
Maison & Objet started on Friday and the Paris Design Week yesterday. The good design is on everyone’s lips now in Paris! Because of these very important events that are taking place right now I would love to share with you some amazing brands which are absolutely making a difference in design industry and I discovered them not long time ago. Each of them offers exciting, bold and high quality products from craftsmen and designers.
Take a look! 🙂
The design fair Maison&Objet Paris is starting soon. There are going to be lots of great products and booths. The one that I can’t wait to see is the booth for Bloomingville.
This amazing Danish brand founded by Betina & Simon Stampe creates, discovers and collects beautiful objects for the home and the garden. Bloomingville offers gorgeous products with a nostalgic Scandinavian twist and reproductions of fantastic pieces inspired by French brocante. Since the begining the brand keeps its focus on excellent quality, reasonable prices and the high level of service.
