Finally weekend! 🙂 The polish city Łódź is on everyone’s lips in Poland this week, I believe abroad too! 🙂 Why is so? Because of the Łódź Design Festival that started on Thursday, but more about this in the next post. Today I would like to show you an amazing loft located in that city and designed all in white.
White interiors present bright and serene atmosphere. They are also a beautiful solution for overwhelming small spaces, tiny flats with small windows or flats with some architectural defects. In this outstanding interior, the white color perfectly highlights the original architectural details! The designers of the apartment, Agata Puławska and Sylwia Pogorzelska from OIKOI Studio, took the advantage of the very high interior (nearly 5m high) and designed a mezzanine. There they created a cozy bedroom with a small workspace area, that can still get daylight from the only two, but high windows.
I am pretty late with this post. We are already in October but I still would like to share with you my favourite things from the previous month. Here are my 4 objects of desire from September that will make your home original and add a little bit of magic and poetry.
I love Scandinavian design, especially the Swedish. Not long time ago I shared with you beautiful interiors shot by one of my favourite photographer Kristofer Johnsson, you can check out this post here. He works with many talented stylist, I love each and everyone of them and I admire their work very much.
Today I would like to show you another breathtaking interior design shot by Kristofer Johnsson! The great stylist Lotta Agaton created a very warm and serene atmosphere in this flat, designed for Folkhem. I love the connection of different kind of woods in this two-level apartment! The SPLIT dining table and COVER chairs from MUUTO look absolutely fantastic with a raw metal cabinet and a stool made of wood. And those wooden boxes for plants. Brilliant idea!
It’s been already two weeks after the Paris Design Week, but I would love to present you an exhibition organized by the concept store Nordkraft for this event. The exclusive exhibition, named “Enclosed”, is still going on until October 11th. Created in collaboration with Norm Architects it features four sculptural pieces. This interactive installation of abstract architectural spaces examines the border between furniture and architecture.
Yesterday’s first day of Autumn made me look for inspirations in calm palette of blue and gray. I found a very elegant and stylish family home featured in the current issue of Elle Decoration UK. I think you will be all inspired as much as I am.
This stunning apartment was styled by creative and talented Saša Antić. The photos were taken by amazing and one of my favourite photographer Kristofer Johnsson. This interior design presents a great mix of light and dark which provide nice contrasts and make this apartment so elegant and minimalist.
As an architect I must admit I like small projects. Some would say that they are easy to design, but I think projects of small buildings are no less demanding than any large building project. One thing is certain, while designing you have to pay attention to every detail, follow many construction and ergonomic rules and environmental aspects.
One small project especially caught my attention. It’s a project of a tiny mountain shelter. The design is very interesting, perfect example of a very well design small form, and because I love mountain hiking I wanted to share it here with you, my dear readers.
Although it is very difficult to believe, we spend a lot of time in our life sitting at the desk. We start very early in our childhood, drawing or playing at home, then learning at school and after many years at work. That’s long isn’t it?
Even if we don’t work many hours at home (not everyone has the good fortune to be his own boss) it’s still nice to design a comfortable, dream workspace corner or even the whole room.
This weekend is being quite calm. I can focus on my blog and posts for this month. In the week when I work sometimes this is nearly impossible, but it’s just how it is, and I love my job anyway :).
In today’s post I would like to share with you some good design, exactly one of my favourite chair. I discovered very interesting video on Elle Decoration UK about the production of the Diamond Chair by Harry Bertoia for Knoll. I love a behind-the-scenes glimpse of creating things, spaces or buildings. Knowing the process of construction fascinates me!
A year ago I found this picture above by browsing internet. I liked it very much because of its bright colours and fresh design. Last weekend I found it again and it turned out that this interior represtents a cafe inspired by California beach cafes. Designed by London based firm Alexander Waterworth Interiors, the cafe Hally’s is located in Parsons Green, in the heart of southwest London.
Maison & Objet started on Friday and the Paris Design Week yesterday. The good design is on everyone’s lips now in Paris! Because of these very important events that are taking place right now I would love to share with you some amazing brands which are absolutely making a difference in design industry and I discovered them not long time ago. Each of them offers exciting, bold and high quality products from craftsmen and designers.
